RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE AN

ENHANCED CHILD CARE REFERRAL SERVICES AGREEMENT

WITH LANSING COMMUNITY COLLEGE

RESOLUTION #03-136

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Office for Young Children has since 1995, provided enhanced child care information and referral services to Lansing Community College students; and

WHEREAS, the relationship between LCC and Ingham County is set out in an agreement within which the compensation rate is periodically adjusted to reflect the level of service; and

WHEREAS, Lansing Community College has proposed to execute a new agreement to replace the 1995 agreement and to set the base annual rate of compensation at $20,000 (166 units), a reduction from the minimum of $30,000 (250 units); and

WHEREAS, Lansing Community College has agreed to provide additional compensation at the rate of $120 per enhanced referral unit for additional services over the minimum number of referrals (166); and

WHEREAS, the Health Officer has recommended that the Board of Commissioners authorize this new agreement with Lansing Community College.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes an "Enhanced Referral Services Agreement" with Lansing Community College.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the period of the new agreement shall be July 1, 2003 through June 30, 2004, and that the agreement shall automatically renew each year according to the same terms and conditions, unless terminated by either party, or amended by mutual consent.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that commencing on July 1, 2003 LCC shall pay Ingham County at an annual rate of compensation of $20,000 for the first 166 students, and shall pay $120 for each unit of enhanced referral service in excess of 166 in the annual period of the agreement.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chairperson is authorized to sign the agreement after review by the County Attorney.
